Solièra

Solièra, in the village of Saignon, Provence, France

Solièra Cottage is located in the beautiful, 12th century, hillside village of Saignon in Provence, one of the ten oldest settlements in France with a population just over 1000. Saignon is still relatively unknown and is a peaceful village with an extremely picturesque central square and very few cars. It is a great place to visit if you want to get a feel of historical village-France. In the past, there were three chateaux (ie castles) in Saignon, and one external wall of Solièra Cottage was once part of the ramparts protecting the village – the arrow slits are windows today! Solièra accommodates 4 in 2 bedrooms with spacious living areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge, oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Excellent local restaurants are plentiful.

Surrounded by lavender fields and perched on the edge of the Lubéron Mountains, there is an amazing 360 degree panorama of the valley and the Lubéron mountain range. Saignon is situated in the ‘Parc Naturel de Lubéron’, within easy driving distance of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Avignon, Arles, Nîmes, Aix-en-Provence, Alès and Orange.
